Back in 2008, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Once I received my license, I started work in the ICU in a community hospital. In 2010, I started A Lady with a Lamp blog to write about my nursing path. I worked in the ICU/CVICU setting for almost 7 years, and then I transitioned to post-anesthesia recovery. In over 9 years as a bedside nurse, I learned a lot, experienced a lot, and cultivated a great appreciation for life. It sounds cliche, but by witnessing how quickly life can come and go, I really have tried to take advantage of this very short finite time we have on earth.
Nursing not only taught me the importance of electrolytes and the effects of medicines, but it also taught me the value of life.
